With the dog days of August here, every game carries real weight in the standings race, and home games at Truist Park are exactly where Atlanta needs to take care of business.
Probable Pitchers: Grant Holmes vs. Eduardo Rodriguez
Grant Holmes gets the ball for Atlanta. Holmes has been working his way through the rotation, and this start against a dangerous Arizona lineup is a genuine test of where he stands as a big-league starter. His command and ability to work through the middle of the D-backs order will be the central storyline of the evening.
Eduardo Rodriguez takes the mound for Arizona. The veteran left-hander brings experience to a Diamondbacks club that features legitimate threats throughout the lineup. Rodriguez's ability to keep Atlanta's potent offense off-balance will determine whether Arizona can steal a win in Cumberland.

Keys to Watch on Saturday Night
Ronald Acuña Jr. Setting the Table
Acuña leading off is always the engine that makes this Atlanta offense run. If he gets on base early and forces Rodriguez to work out of the stretch, the Braves' middle-of-the-order bats — Olson, Albies, and Harris — get to hit in premium counts. When Acuña is doing damage at the top, this lineup is a genuine handful for any pitcher.
Nolan Arenado in the Arizona Order
Arizona slotting Nolan Arenado sixth is worth noting. The veteran third baseman is the kind of hitter who can punish a mistake no matter where he hits in the lineup. Holmes cannot afford to let his guard down when he reaches the bottom third of Arizona's order — Arenado changes that calculus entirely.
Corbin Carroll's Speed Against Atlanta's Defense
Carroll hitting second for Arizona brings a genuine speed element into the equation. Michael Harris II in center for Atlanta is more than capable of tracking down balls in the gaps, but Carroll's ability to turn singles into doubles and manufacture runs forces Atlanta's defense to be sharp from the first inning.
Austin Riley Batting Eighth
Riley dropping to eighth in the order is the notable lineup decision for Atlanta. Whether that reflects a specific matchup plan against Rodriguez's approach or something else, it's a configuration worth monitoring. Riley hitting ahead of Sean Murphy could actually create some interesting run-scoring opportunities if the lineup turns over late.
Prediction
This one comes down to Grant Holmes holding his own through five or six innings and keeping the Braves' bullpen from being overworked on a Saturday night. Arizona's lineup is deep enough to make things uncomfortable if Holmes loses the strike zone, but Atlanta at Truist Park with Acuña leading off and Olson in the three hole is a tough environment for any road team. Braves win a competitive game, 5-3.
