Preview

The Atlanta Braves make the trip to Milwaukee for a 2:10 PM ET Saturday afternoon matchup against the Brewers at American Family Field on August 22, 2026. Atlanta sends veteran left-hander Martín Pérez to the mound, where he'll square off against Brewers right-hander Logan Henderson. With Ronald Acuña Jr. slotted into the two-hole and the full lineup intact, the Braves have a legitimate chance to take care of business in this one. Every game matters in the thick of the regular season, and this road test is no exception.

Probable Starters: Martín Pérez vs. Logan Henderson

Martín Pérez draws the start for Atlanta. The veteran southpaw has been a regular part of the Braves' rotation, and road starts in hitter-friendly environments will test his ability to keep the ball on the ground and work efficiently through Milwaukee's lineup. Henderson gets the ball for the Brewers and will look to keep one of the National League's more dangerous lineups off the board early.

Keys to Watch for the Braves

Acuña Jr. in the Middle of the Order

Ronald Acuña Jr. hitting second is a statement in itself. Getting him on base early and often puts pressure on the Brewers' defense and pitching staff right away. If Acuña reaches, Matt Olson and Michael Harris II are more than capable of driving him in. That 2-3-4 combination of Acuña, Olson, and Harris is the engine of this offense.

Pérez Keeping Milwaukee's Bats Quiet

The Brewers are putting a lineup out there that includes William Contreras — a former Brave who always plays with something to prove against Atlanta — along with Jackson Chourio at the top and Christian Yelich in the six-hole. Pérez needs to be sharp, especially against Contreras and Yelich, who are capable of doing damage at any point in the order.

Austin Riley's Role

Riley hitting eighth is an unusual spot for a player of his caliber, but wherever he hits, the Braves need production from him. If he's locked in, he makes the bottom of the order dangerous and keeps big innings alive.

Prediction

This is a winnable game for Atlanta. The Braves have the lineup depth to put up runs against Henderson, and if Pérez settles in and limits the big inning, the bullpen can hold things down late. The Contreras factor adds some intrigue, but Atlanta's top of the order is too good to be held down for nine innings. Braves take this one on the road, 5-3.
